The squad will leave on Tuesday morning and will return on Wednesday evening, but it won’t all be relaxation has there is a football pitch there which means Tuesday and Wednesday morning training sessions will still take place, but will still be able to take therapy treatments which are available.

Thompson believes that the short stay is essential for the squad to get to know each other after a cluster of new arrivals and a large number of departures as well as a Managerial change.

Thompson told Magpie World: “With so many new players, I think it is essential we get away, even if it is for a night and a day.”

“It is good to get the players together as a group and get them to some different surroundings.”

“We will still be training. There’s a football pitch there, so it is work as well as play if you like.”

“We are going to a nice place where Nottingham Forest also visit. The players can have massages and various other treatments.”

“There are thalassotherapy pools and games rooms, and obviously we will allow the players some leisure time.”

“It is a good chance for them to get to know each other and be in each others company.”

“We will work hard in the mornings and let the lads have the afternoons to themselves.”

“It is a good chance to do some team bonding, and then we will come back a little fresher and get to the real hard work once again.”

The squad will be back in training on Thursday morning at the training ground in West Bridgford ahead of our first pre-season friendly on Saturday 15 against Hucknall Town and will be at the Conference North Sides’ Watnall Road Ground, with Kick-Off at 3pm.
