England U21 v Portugal U21 - For-get Them!
By Paddy Power September 5 2008
Nobody is immune to unintentional xenophobic ramblings. Football managers are particularly susceptible, especially international bosses. England U21 chief Stuart Pearce, who probably should be concentrating on his team ahead of their tough encounter with Portugal, is worried by the lack of home grown talent emerging with the influx of foreign players. We haven't heard that before. Sounding a bit like Steve Coppell... with hair, he said, "We are concerned that there are not as many young English players, or even older English players, in the top league as they were some years ago," forgetting to finish with "bloody foreigners!" With Capello's team facing the might of Andorra in the senior game, you’d be Stu-pid to miss the Under 21 match! Fri 7.45pm Set.
