Reading 3 - Brighton and Hove Albion 2
By Kian Duffy
August 7 2004
Brighton narrowly lost to promotion hopefuls Reading at the Madjeski Stadium. However, with a Molango goal on 14 seconds, Brighton could not be accused of putting up a fight.
With what will probably be the fastest league goal of the season followed up on 90 seconds by a Reading equaliser, it was evenly matched at the start.

However, close to the break, Reading's Harper pulled them ahead on 41 minutes, and Forster got a third on the 59th minutes.

Adam Virgo suffered an injury and Jake Robinson was substitued on in his place. This sawp of positions proved useful, as the youngster scored the Albions second goal on 63 minutes.

All four of Mark McGhee's new signings - Nicolas, Jarrett, Molango and Currie - started the match, confirming McGhee's statements that the only reason he'd be purchasing players would be if they were better than those already on his squad.

Whilst the Albion did lose this match, it is not nessacerily any form of indication as to how the rest of the season will pan out, as Reading are one of the stronger teams in the Championship.
