Wigan v West Ham match preview

By Neil Gunner
April 27 2007

This saturday's premiership clash with the hammers is vital for both clubs survival in he top flight. With Lee Mculloch set to return from injury and on the back of West Ham's hearing into acting unlawfully and witholding vital information regarding the Mascherano and Tevez signings. Both clubs will be up for the battle ahead of this weekends relegation dog fight between Wigan and West Ham. Maybe not the perfect build up to the game for the Londoners with the hearing being held so close to the crunch weekend clash - Like we are bothered. Maybe I am being a little too synical but am I the only person who could see West Brooking(major player within the FA), sorry Ham getting out of the points deduction. They have received a £5.5 million fine though - bet they are running scared about that one eh?. Anyway back to the preview : - Wigan winger Lee McCulloch is poised to return to the side after missing the defeat at Liverpool with a badly-bruised foot. Right-back Ryan Taylor is a doubt with his own foot injury, while Antonio Valencia completes a three-match ban. Matthew Upson (calf) and Danny Gabbidon (groin) are out for West Ham for the season. Probable Teams : - Wigan (from): Filan, Granqvist, Jackson, De Zeeuw, Camara, Kilbane, Heskey, McCulloch, Johansson, Landzaat, Aghahowa, Scharner, Skoko, Taylor, Folan, Cywka, Cotterill, Baines, Boyce, Unsworth, Pollitt. West Ham (from): Green, Neill, Collins, Ferdinand, McCartney, Bowyer, Reo-Coker, Noble, Etherington, Zamora, Tevez, Carroll, Benayoun, Konchesky, Dailly, Cole, Spector, Mullins, Harewood, Boa Morte, Sheringham. Referee : Graham Poll (Tring, Hertfordshire) Wigan manager Paul Jewell: "We have got roll our sleeves up. We are relishing the battle and prepared for the fight. "West Ham are a big club with some good players who will believe that they can get out of it. Let's cheer the boys on with an almost capacity crowd at the JJB makin a whole lot of noise. COME ON!!
