With Lee Carsley banned for the rest of the season having recieved a straight red card away at Chelsea, Tim Cahill out for the rest of the season with a knee injury and with Mikel Arteta who is unlikely to figure again this season this may be the ideal chance for some of Everton's young prospects.
Victor Anichebe made his first premiership appearance when he came on against Birmingham City last Saturday and will be hoping that he gets another chance to impress Moyes. Another potential youngster that might be given the chance against Middlesbrough on Saturday is the Icelandic under-21 International Bjarni Vidarsson. Both players have impressed this season for the reserves and their games have improved immeasurably.
Moyes said, 'I want to finish as high up the league as I can, though that still might mean we give a couple of the younger one's a go.'
'They have done okay but they are young boys. We are always pretty good at putting the young boys in early. We have done that when we have thought the time has been right.'
If the youngsters are given their chance in the final two fixtures everyone will be hoping they can have the same impact as James Vaughan did last season when he made an instant name for himself by becoming the Premierships youngest ever goalscorer following his goal against Crystal Palace.
