Man City 2-0 Everton
By Rhys Lewis
October 2 2005
Everton slip to their 6th defeat in 7 games this seaon after losing 2-0 at Manchester City. Everton remain bottom of the table and with some tough games coming up the blues could find themselves in a tough situation.
The match itself was one of the worst matches i have ever been to. It was dull, slow, and even more uneventful than most Premiership games. But this match was especially bad. It had a ridiculous kick off time of 11.15am and both teams appeared to be asleep throughout the match, or they both might as well have stayed in bed. It was terrible.

In the first half the only shot on target was by Tim Cahill and that was from outside the box and was straight at David James in the Manchester City net. Leon Osman saw a weak header loop over and the only other piece of action of note for Everton was from a set piece that fell to Tim Cahill, but he saw his effort disallowed for offside. For Manchester City the only real effort was a shot from Sibierski which wouldnt have hit the target had there been 3 goals on top of each other.

The second half wasnt much better, Andy Cole had a shot whcih thundered into the side netting. But then came the moment of magic that really separated the 2 teams. Danny Mills unleashed an unstoppable 25yards pile driver that flew into the top corner. It was one of those goals you knew was going in as soon as he hit it. Without it the game would have ended 0-0. It was only then that Everton felt the need to attack, Kevin Kilbane saw his effort parried by James with the rebound falling to a city player. Then David Weir had a shot in the dying seconds which was goalbound and before James Beattie could tap it in Distin managed to hook it away for safety. CIty then went down the other end for Darius Vassell to score a simple goal and secure the points.

Everton now have played 7, won 1, lost 6 and scored only 1 goal. It may be getting extremely seruious but at least Per Kroldrup was on the bench. Hopefully he will help stop the goals, the only problem is, where are the goals for us going to come from?
