Middlesbrough Res 1. Bolton Wanderers Res 3.
By Mark Heys
April 11 2006
Bolton Wanderers reserves recorded their first back to back win of the season earlier on this evening as they beat Middlesbrough by a 3-1 scoreline in Billingham.
The game started off at a lively pace with both sides having their fair share of chances. However, it was Boro who where to open the scoring just twenty minutes into the game as Adam Johnson curled in a superb free kick from distance which completely eluded the Wanderers keeper Ali Al-Habsi.

Just after the half hour mark striker Matt Jansen was to bring Bolton back on level terms when firing the ball through the legs of young Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones.

Things got even better for the Wanderers as the half drew to a close as veteran defender Colin Cooper was unfortunate to direct the ball past Jones to put the visitors in front.

Full back John Johnson proved that he could go one better than Cooper as he too put the ball into his own net from just inside the penalty area to cap off a frustrating and miserable night for the Teesiders.

Wanderers will not complain too much though as this result gets the likes of Ivan Campo and Matt Jansen back to match fitness and gives the reserves a big boost as the season comes to an end.
