Bolton Wanderers Res. 0 Manchester City Res. 2
By Mark Heys
February 28 2006
Nicky Hunt was sent off as the reserves tumbled to their second successive defeat against local rivals Manchester City earlier this evening.
The England U21 right back was dismissed in the second half for dissent following a nasty tackle on team mate Henrik Pedersen which went unpunished by the match referee.

Hunt will now be forced to serve a two match ban over the coming games and will suffer a similar punishment to that of Ivan Campo who was sent off for the second string earlier on in the season when they faced City's rivals Manchester United in December.

Australian midfielder Scott Jamieson had an early chance for Wanderers but it was Marc Laird who put City ahead nine minutes before the break when planting a neat finish past Bolton goalkeeper Ian Walker.

Pedersen and defender Bradley Hill had chances to bring the hosts back into the game with Walker saving smartly at the other end to deny lively City striker Ishmael Miller.

Miller added the City matchwinner with a quarter of an hour remaining in the contest after being put through on goal but the sending off of opponent Hunt some five minutes previously will hinder Bolton's plans over the next couple of games.
