Wanderers manager Gary Megson has made a plea towards the clubs supporters ahead of Saturday's game with West Ham United which may go a long way to deciding the clubs future in the Premier League.

A protest is planned by sections of the Bolton support to voice their displeasure at the way in which the club is being handled on and off the pitch but Megson wants the Reebok faithful to stick with the team.

Last Saturday's disappointing 4-0 loss to Aston Villa has left the club four points adrift of their relegation rivals Birmingham City and demotion back to the second tier of English football after seven years seems a distinct possibility.

However, despite being under pressure Megson has urged the fans to turn out in force at the weekend and hopefully cheer the side onto victory against a Hammers team currently affected by injuries.

"The fans always have a big part to play, Sometimes they under-estimate the effect they can have on a game." said Megson to the Bolton News on Wednesday.

Bolton go in search of their first home league win since beating Derby County on January 2nd and their first three points overall since a 2-0 win away at Reading two months ago.
