A weakend Bolton Wanderers team were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline last night as they faced Recreativo Huelva at the Nuevo Colombino Stadium.

A weakend Bolton Wanderers team were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline last night as they faced Recreativo Huelva at the Nuevo Colombino Stadium.
Skipper Kevin Nolan bagged a brace for the Trotters in the second half, but a late goal from Vazquez three minutes from the end ensured that the first points in the Colombino tournament went the way of the home side.
Bolton gave first team starts to Academy players Johann Smith and Blazej Augustyn, whilst trialist Alex Perez also got a chance to stake his claim for a more permanent contract.
Arzo nearly set up the first goal of the evening for Huelva on 18 minutes but Jussi Jaaskelainen was quick to foil the resulting shot which came in from an unmarked Carzola.
Shortly after Senegalese forward El-Hadji Diouf saw his diving header from a Perez free kick saved well by the host keeper Valejo as both teams looked to force their way into the lead.
It was Huelva who broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when Calle tapped home a rebound after Wanderers midfielder Idan Tal had hacked the initial header from Vazquez off the line.
The Wanderers moved back on level terms six minutes after the re-start when Nolan showed some great composure to finish past Vallejo who had saved the first shot from Bolton's young Polish full back Blazej Augustyn.
Huelva took the lead for a second time more or less from the resulting restart as Augustyn clumsily felled Carzola in the area. Calle confidently despatched the penalty past Jaaskelainen for his second goal of the night to make the scoreline 2-1.
Nolan brought Bolton back into the match with twenty minutes remaining when planting a sublime free kick past Vallejo but Vazquez struck with a deflected effort three minutes from the end to leave Wanderers still looking for their first pre-season victory.
