Despite a section of Villa fans calling for him to be sacked and today's 'Daily Mail' reporting that chairman Doug Ellis wants ex-Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri to take over from the current manager at the end of the season, Villa boss David O'Leary has vowed to turn the club's fortunes around in the summer.
Speaking earlier today, O'Leary said, "My playing and managerial record is all about being at the top of the league, we are fifth from bottom - and I don't like that. It leaves a bad taste.
"This year we have fallen below the standards of the past two seasons, when we finished in the top ten, for various reasons that I can't go into. Everyone is frustrated.
"This season has been disappointing," the Villa boss continued, "and that's what makes me more determined in the summer to put it right. I will put it right because I know how to put it right."
The next two weeks in Villa's poor season will be pivotal for under-fire boss David O'Leary. With West Brom and Birmingham the next two visitors to Villa Park, the boss knows that two bad results will, almost definately, spell the end of his three year managerial spell at Villa Park.
