Goals from Adebayor, Henry, Van Persie and Diaby handed the Gunners a deserved win against a Villa side who, yet again, put in a pathetic performance to move closer to the relegation zone.
Despite starting the game well with Kevin Phillips creating two early chances, Villa's early promise soon disappeared as a rejuvinated Arsenal ran riot.
With only 19 minutes on the clock, Adebayor gave Arsenal the lead - drilling home from close range after Hughes had cleared Henry's effort off the line.
Six minutes later, Thierry Henry doubled the lead as he calmly lobbed the ball over the head of Sorensen to record his 20th goal of the campaign.
Despite the clear dominance of the home side, the Gunners only took a two-goal lead into the break but within a minute of the restart, Henry grabbed his second of the game to put the result beyond all doubt.
Villa managed to muster one clear chance in the second half but with only Lehmann to beat, Luke Moore drilled the ball straight at the keeper.
With 20 minutes remaining, Robin van Persie added a fourth for Arsenal before Diaby added a fifth with ten minutes left to compound the visitors' misery.
