Reds forward Micheal Owen has nothing but admiration for tonights UEFA Cup opponents Celtic, he has family from Glasgow which meant he could have played for Scotland.
Owen firmly beleives that Celtic would more than hold their Own if they were to play in the Premiership one day but hope's to quash the Parkhead sides UEFA Cup hopes tonight.
Owen said: "Celtic are a very good side, they are certainly good enough to play in the Premiership.
"I won't say where they would finish - all I know is that they are a very good side, they have showed that time and time again. They showed it against us.
"The Glasgow end of my family were at Parkhead last week and they'll be at Anfield for the second game.
"I remember playing and scoring at Parkhead with my first-ever European goal in the previous meeting back in '98. That was a real big family occasion for me to have done that."
Owen, needing one goal to set a new Liverpool club record for European goals, still believes Liverpool have the experience to see them through.
He said: "I was impressed with them in Glasgow, certainly that first five minutes. They took us by surprise, hit the bar and scored.
"After that we calmed down a bit and controlled large parts of the game, but Celtic showed signs that they can cause us problems if we let them play."
