1) Have you been impressed with the start to your season so far? Or do you wish you could turn back the clock? Or hide away in embarrassment?!

Bit of a mixed bag so far. In the first half dozen games some very solid defending spoiled by silly individual mistakes costing us goals & ultimately points. Since then these mistakes have been eradicated and with the continued solid defending in general we went on a 12 match unbeaten run, before losing to Rushden which leaves us in a respectable 10th place, and only 3 pts from the playoffs. Overall acceptable but could do better and I will be disappointed if we don't reach the playoffs this season.

2) Who should I keep an eye open for on the pitch?

1) Name: ROSS
a) Free kick and long range shooting ability
b) Overall workrate is good
b) Distribution

2) Name: WHITE
a) Very strong aggresive defender who gives all to the cause
b) Has chipped in with many goals
b) Isn't easily intimidated as Grant Holt of Rochdale can testify

2) Name: MAYLETT
a) Dribbling
b) Shooting
b) Recently added tracking back to his many skills

3)Has your manager bought well enough to see you through until January?

Yes he has. Although they have taken time to gel we now have serious competion in all area's except maybe GK.

4) …And has your manager proved his credentials enough to keep his job until January?!

January is going to be a tough month for Evans, a court case against The IR and a strong possibility of doing time if he is convicted. Although results so far are good enough, I personally don't like the way he drags our club through the gutter with his dodgy dealings (which he has been convicted of) and all the rubbish he sprouts which infuriates opposing mangers/fans. For this reason I'd like to see him leave the club.

5) What would you change about the style of your team’s play?

Change: 2 changes. The fact that we play high long balls, not a fan of that style of football and it doesn't work when you have Joachim & Whelan/Dudfield as your front 2. Also the negativity we are starting to produce in all away games. This is okay occassionally when under the cosh but to play like this week in week out is starting to get very boring.

Keep: 2 again. In patches at home we have produced some exceptionally good football, like the move which led to the second goal against Torquay, quick incissive passing. Also our will and determination to win.

6) Name the one player who you question why he turns up on the team sheet every week.

Name: Simon Rusk
Because Although much improved of late and he gives 110%, Rusk has very similar qualities to Chris Holland, who in my opinion is better passer of the ball and does all the things Rusk does marginally better (winning tackles, tracking back etc.).

7) What does your club need to do in order to improve?

In order to improve we need to get the ball on the ground and pass the ball. Also need to be a bit more positive in going forward away from home, especially against the likes of Rushden (no offence intended Rushden fans).

8) Are you satisfied that your position in the league reflects your performances?

I have not really seen anyone better than us this season and with a bit more luck we would have beaten some of the poorer sides we have played (Bury & Macclesfield spring to mind), so I honestly believe that we should probably be slightly higher based on performance. Last season Swansea & Yeovil weere head & shoulders above everyone else, having said that I am yet to see us play Orient, Wycombe, Chester & Carlisle from the top six. So maybe one or more of these teams are much better than the very tightly matched teams I have seen thus far, which leads to the conclusion that 10th from some tight games isn't too bad. But I'm hoping we don't drop when we play the above mentioned teams before and around Christmas.

9) Who are the best side you’ve seen play this season?

Having seen all games home & away I'll split the 2.

Away from home - Cheltenham. Took us apart in the first half and could have been more than the 3-0 up they went in at half time. Took their foot off the gas second half but still ran out comfy 3-0 winners.

At home is a close call - no one has come to York Street and really impressed me, Dale played some good stuff without looking particulary threatening as could be said about Peterborough. Bizzarely given their current league position I have to say Mansfield, took a thouroughly deserved 1-0 lead and although we came back to lead 2-1 they took everything we could throw at them, then equalised and by the end looked the likelier winner. I was pleased to hear the final whistle with us claiming a point in a 2-2 draw.

10) Is your stadium worth a trip to on a cold Tuesday evening?

Depends what your like. Great accoustics mean that even 100 Bury fans can outsing a very quiet home support (this happened last year - the Bury fans where great even when they where losing 2-0). Also does some good food, a friendly atmosphere and a rare chance to stand. If I was an away fan, although there are much better stadia than our's in League 2, I would have to say yes.
