Hammers miss out on Niang

West Ham have missed out on transfer target Mamadou Niang after the player's club Strasbourg agreed a 6.5 million euros fee for the Senegal International.
The striker will meet the Marseille managers on friday to discuss his contract. Niang was the priority of the new Marseille coach Jean Fernandez who knew him at Metz where he spent one year on loan.
