Weir: Miller is world class
By Hugh Jass
September 4 2005
David Weir has compared goalscorer Kenny Miller to Francesco Totti or Christian after Scotland held Italy to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night.
On that performance he was as good as Vieri and Totti, there's no doubt about it.

"He showed what he's capable of. He's done well every game he's played in and we've always appreciated that but he got his reward with his goal in addition to his performance."

"That's two in two games for him so he'll be excited about that."

"It wasn't a point proved at all. I'm just trying to do my best for Scotland and to be honest I don't think it mattered who got the goal," said Miller.

"But fortunately for me it was me who got it and I was pleased, especially scoring against those defenders. To be honest, the criticism hasn't really bothered me because I'm only getting one chance a game.

"That's four chances in the last four games and I've managed to get two goals. That's a 50% strike rate and I'd be happy with that for the rest of my career because I would end up with about 500 goals!

"Sometimes you put your one chance away and sometimes you don't but fortunately in the last couple of games I've managed to score." Said Weir.
