By Ben Dover
September 3 2005
Scotland's Under-21s claimed a thrilling 2-2 draw against Italy's youngsters as the three players were sent off at Motherwell's Fir Park.

Zander Diamond's first goal for his country gave the home side the lead just before the break with a fine back post header.

Andrea Lazzari levelled the score shortly after the interval with a deft header with Stoke striker Paul Gallagher restoring Scotland's lead after 74 minutes.

Just two minutes later Simone Pepe scored a second equaliser for the Italians before tempers flared.

David Marshall and Marco Motta both saw red in the 77th minute before Simone Pepe was given a second yellow card late on for a lunge on Scott Brown.
