Levein dead man walking

Craig Levein looks as though he has lost the Scottish public opinion, if you read the press this morning and will be heading out the door at Hampden on Wednesday morning.

AfterScotland’s start to the World Cup qualifiers with only two points from nine in the opening three games, it looks as though the Tartan Army and the Media have had enough of Levein.

There is a alternative debate about what could he do differently as we don’t have enough quality players, well here are a few suggestions;

  1. Stick to the principle of only playing players who are playing for their club side – Alan Hutton is way out the picture at Aston Villa with onlyScotlandappearances in recent months.
  2. Play players in the positions they are successful in with their clubs – Shaun Maloney was stuck out wide left on Friday, while he has been playing more centrally while starring forWigan.
  3. Be consistent in selection – Christophe Berra has looked out of his depth for some time, Andy Webster played in the last two games and looked better than Berra but was on the bench on Friday. Paul Dixon was the best outfield player in the first two games and wasn’t selected!
  4. Look in the mirror and reflect on what is really happening – Levein needs to stop the self delusion progress has been made and come into the real world where progress is measured by results.

There are enough other crimes on his rap sheet to see him being sacked;

  1. The 6-4-0 shambles inPraguetwo years ago.
  2. The 5-0 defeat to theUSAat the end of what looked like a week’s holiday inFlorida.
  3. Selection of Dundee Utd “friends” such as Gary Kenneth, who is now plying his trade in League Two.

I am sure we don’t need to go on….
