Celtic march on

Stokes and Hooper
By Graham Barnstaple
February 20 2012
Celtic continued what is now a procession to the SPL title ending Rangers run to four in a row with an emphatic win over Hibs yesterday.

Celtic capitalised fully on Rangers 10 point deduction for going into administration by opening up a 17 point gap with a 5-0 win away to Hibs on Sunday.

The game was over in the opening 20 minutes when Celtic stormed into a two goal lead thanks to goals from the strike partners of Hooper and Stokes. Although you have to say much of it was down to poor defending on the part of Hibs.

The next two goals at the start of the second half, from Hooper and Mulgrew, were down to some poor goalkeeping from Graeme Stack. He was poorly positioned for a free kick from Mulgrew before letting Hooper’s shot bounce over his hands.

The fifth was a stroke of luck when Commons shot struck Ki and flew past the stranded Stack. Goalkeeping has been a problem for Hibs for sometime with Mark Brown dropped for throwing one away in 4-0 defeat at Ibrox. Now Stack has thrown a couple away, what does Fenlon do for the Motherwell game on Wednesday?

While Celtic march on to the League title, and the fans can party from now until the end of the season Hibs are back looking over their shoulder atDunfermlinein a relegation battle.

TheEdinburghside now have two difficult away games coming up at Motherwell andKilmarnockknowing they cannot afford any slip ups or they could slip to the bottom of the table and therefore heap more pressure on the club.
