Scottish Cup draw hands United another mountain to climb
By Graham Barnstaple
February 6 2012
The Quarter Final draw was made at Hampden this afternoon, and the big tie is Dundee United once again up against the Old Firm this time Celtic.

Celtic’s long run of away draws in the Scottish Cup continued today when they were drawn away against Rangers conquerors Dundee United. This, of course, means United will be forced to do things the hard way if they want to win the trophy!

Every other tie is inconclusive with so many either ors given the number of draws and a postponement on Saturday.

The only other two sides who are through, Motherwell and Hibs, will need to wait on the result of a couple of these games before they know who they will get. Last season’s finalists Motherwell, have been handed their third home draw in a row against eitherAberdeenor Queen of the South.

Hibs have been drawn away from home against First Division opposition, either Ayr United orFalkirk. This will surely build up expectations they can end their long hoodoo in the Cup.

The games are due to be played on the weekend of the 10th/11th March depending on TV requirements, although there is no doubt one of the games will be the United v Celtic one!

Hearts/St Johnstone v St. Mirren/Ross County

Ayr Utd/Falkirk v Hibs

Dundee Utd v Celtic

Motherwell v Aberdeen/QOS
