Jimmy makes it
By MCC March 18 2006
We all knew he could do it. The pundits and opposition always quetioned his height, but Jimmy Walker is a Premiership Player.
Injuries to Shakka Hislop and Roy Carroll coincided with Jimmy's return to fitness and have combined to hand him his first ever Premiership Start.

The last time he turned out for the Hammers first team was in that Play Off Final where he landed awkwardly when collecting a high ball at the edge of the box.

Everyone has had an opinion on weather Jimmy could play in the Premiership. Most Walsall fans would say that doing it at the age of 32 is a bit overdue. He's been putting in star performances since the days of Chris Nicholl but came to his peak under the great Ray Graydon.

One quote that will always stick in the memory is Dario Gradi saying that whenever he plays Walsall with their Small Goalkeeper they take the chance to treat him like a weak link.

Today's Premiership debut today goes a long way to showing anyone who thought he was to small just how wrong they were.
