Former Player Boss Paul Merson has annoucned his retirement from Playing.

It's come as no surprise to Walsall fans who have watched the demise of his playing career since that magical 4-1 win over the Albion on his debut.
He did say that clubs in the League had approached him before he joined Tamworth, but his decision to join Tamworth shows that somewhere at the back of his mind he must have had doubts about wanting to continue playing.
What next for him? He has an on going interest in Virtual Soccer Academy, he's been spotted on Sky Sports on more than one occasion recently, then again, he may want another shot at coaching or managing.
Whatever he chooses to do next, anyone who follows Arsenal, Walall, Middlesboro, Villa, Brentford and even Tamworth will always keep an eye out for what he's up to.
