Tigers sign Coles for £200k

Hull City have signed Danny Coles from Bristol City for a fee of £200,000. The 23 year-old centre-back completed his move yesterday after passing a medical and agreeing a 2 year deal with the Tigers.

Bristol-born Coles progressed through the youth system at Ashton Gate to make his senior debut in December 2000 and become a fixture in the first team.

He arrives at the KC Stadium with the reputation as a covering defender who is comfortable on the ball but also good in the air. He spoke to the Official Website:

"I'm delighted to be up here. It's been over a year since I've been ready to move on from Bristol City and I'm happy to be at a club which will be playing in the Championship this season.

"It'll give me the chance to test and stretch myself again. There were one or two other clubs interested in me, but out of the three, Hull City would always have been first choice."
