MK
Dons 1 -
1 Hull
City
Lewington (50)
Facey (86)
In difficult winter conditions, unfit for flowing football, City kempt Stuart Elliott and Nick Barmby wrapped up on the substitutes bench with Ellison, Hessenthaler and Facey being included in the starting line-up.
The Tigers started the better team with Allsopp and Facey both fluffing good opportunities to score. The Dons wrestled back the initiative during the first half with a couple of decent chances and in the 50th minute went ahead when Wade Small squared Izale McLeod's cross into the path of Dean Lewington to score from close range.
Playing in front of 1,500 brave traveling fans, City managed to rescue a point when second half substitute Barmby's miss-hit shot was turned in by Delroy Facey. While the Tigers seemed happy to settle for the draw, their promotion rivals Tranmere and Hartlepool were both winning their home games and Luton scored yet another late winner to stretch their lead at the top.
Peter Taylor: "I'm sure people will say it's only a draw but MK Dons have had some good performances at home and are much improved under Danny Wilson... There weren't too many chances on either side because it was like an ice rink and nobody could get the right studs."
