Charlton played rochdale less then a month ago in the tird round of the F.A cup and comfortably won the game 4-1 thanks to goals from Jonathan Fotune, Bryan Hughes(2) and Danny Murphy.
McCaffetry was not involed in the game but the 20 year old midfeilder would have a head start on knowing how Rochdale go about their business and will most certainly provide much needed information for his new side to over come Rochdale this weekend.
This is the second time Neil, a former U-19 Republic of Ireland player made six outings for Cambridge United last season. He is yet to play in his first match for the Addicks.
Neil was said to be 'Delighted' to be going out on loan to another club. Neil joins Rushden & Diamonds at a time where they are currently looking for a new manager and are fourth from bottom in League 2. The bright side is that they are currently 7 points clear of the drop zone which could prove to be a much needed cushion come the end of the season.
