The Motherwell born midfielder spent much of last season on loan at Livingston but his spell at Almondvale was cut short through a injury he picked up in at match at Fir Park. The 22 year old appeared in the Champions League for the Magpies but failed to hold down a regular place and was loaned out to Coventry after his spell at Livingston.
