Steve Roberts has been at the club since 1998 but decided to stay in Lague One following Wrexham’s relegation to League Two.

Wrexham Boss Denis Smith said:

"He has performed well for me over the years and I would have liked to have seen him stay with us.

"Had we been able to offer him a deal earlier in the year, then his decision might have been different, but as it is he's going to join his brother at Belle Vue.

"It's obviously frustrating to lose Steve, but he has made his decision. We now have to move on and look to the players who want to remain with us, and also at bringing in a few replacements."
