Huddersfield 3 – 1 Doncaster
By Nick Raynor April 9 2005
Doncaster crashed and burned in the Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town in a game where Rovers only had 2 shots.

It was just 59 seconds into the game when Huddersfield took the lead when Pawel Abbott headed into the bottom right-corner from the edge of the 6-yard-box.

A similar header followed on 10 minutes, this time it was Andy Booth who directed it more towards Iain Turner who made a comfortable save.

Doncaster were back in the match thanks to Leo Fortune-West who slotted it left-footed into the back of the net from the left edge of the penalty box.

Worthington had a shot easily saved by Turner before the next chance came late of 43 minutes when Booth this time headed into the top corner after a cross from Adams to give Town the lead at the break.

Schofield shot over the bar from 25 yards before Brandon gave Huddersfield 3 points on 55 minutes by shooting right-footed into the back of the net after Abbott’s cross.

It took 57 minutes for Rovers to get their 2nd shot on goal in the form of Lewis Guy who put it over.

Abbott somehow shot over from 6 yards on 58 minutes which was the final shot until stoppage time which was put over by Ahmed from 25 yards to conclude a dull game despite 4 goals.

FINAL SCORE: 3-1
