Sheffield United Ladies 1 – 7 Belles
By Nick Raynor
March 22 2005
The Doncaster Belles have won the Sheffield & Hallamshire Women’s Challenge Cup for a third consecutive year.

Belles completely dominated the match putting 7 goals past a lacklustre Sheffield side.

Sheffield actually took the lead in the 44th minute against the run of play though Jodie Sneldon.

Katie Brash made it equal a minute later from the kick-off leaving the team’s tied at the half-time break.

Once one goal had gone in, the floodgates just opened and Sheffield may have done better by simply not turning up.

In the second half, Michelle Walsh got her hat-trick, Vicky Exley got 2 for herself and Frankie Waller notched one up aswell.

Sheffield kept on battling but every time Rovers went at goal they scored another, the gap between the two clubs becoming apparent.

FINAL SCORE: 1-7

Belles win the cup
