Youths 2 – 0 York City

Doncaster Youths got their first win in the merit league this season with a 2-0 victory over neighbours, York City.

The weather stated off cold, but calm, until half an hour into the game where the hail came down and it rained until full time.

 

It was a good game of football despite the weather, as 22 youngsters battled it out and put on a neat display.

 

Rovers were facing the wind in the first half but still managed to dominate a poor York side who could not use the weather to their advantage.

 

The York defence however were fantastic, not allowing Doncaster to get any of their shots away at goal in the first half.

 

Rovers came out in the second period hungry for goals and were rewarded 3 minutes later when Brown crossed in for Brittain to knock home.

 

York battled hard but Rovers kept the ball and were patient. The second came on 86 minutes with Flint scoring a fine effort to give Rovers all 3 points.
