Belles 0 – 1 Arsenal Ladies
By Nick Raynor
March 5 2005
Doncaster Belles were unlucky to lose to 2nd placed Arsenal Ladies on Sunday afternoon.

Despite a valiant effort from the Belles, it was a 52nd minute strike from Scottish striker Julie Fleeting which sunk Rovers hopes and hurtled them ever closer towards relegation.

Rovers’ keeper Catherine Beaver was having a busy day, making good saves after efforts from Fleeting, Wheatley and Sanderson.

Doncaster did have some chances though, the best of the first half coming from Kirsty Pealling where the ball somehow just went wide.

But the deadlock was broken unfortunately for Rovers by Fleeting who scored due to poor defending from Rovers.

The loss leaves Rovers hovering above relegation, just 2 points clear with 2 games left, against difficult opponents, Everton and Birmingham.
