Doncaster 1 – 1 Swindon
By Nick Raynor March 5 2005 Doncaster came back from one-down to earn a point against Swindon Town on Saturday. Rovers would have leapfrogged Swindon if they won.
Doncaster will be disappointed with a point after they dominated much of the attacking play throughout the match.
Swindon, hoping to make it into the playoffs, made the perfect start when Lee Holmes had a close-range tap-in after a good pass from Sam Parkin to give Town a 1-0 lead.
Doncaster worked hard to get back in the game, with Evans having to be at full-stretch to keep out Mulligan’s effort.
On the half-hour mark, James Coppinger set up Neil Roberts perfectly, who made no mistake with firing in the equaliser.
Doncaster came out in the second half looking for the win and dominated throughout the final 45 minutes.
Grant Smith did come close for Swindon, hitting the post but agonizingly for Neil Roberts and Doncaster, Roberts missed 2 fantastic chances in injury time to give Doncaster all 3 points.
