Doncaster 0 -1 Chesterfield
By Nick Raynor
February 12 2005
Doncaster will feel aggrieved that they did not send Chesterfield packing with nothing to show from their travels.

At the final whistle, it was Rovers who had nothing to show after conceding a goal 3 minutes from time.

During the first half, despite playing into a fierce wind, Doncaster dominated and dictated much of the play.

Coppinger, who was outstanding in midfield along with John Doolan, had his good effort blocked after 20 minutes and left-back Tim Ryan hit a 25-yard-screamer just past the post 10 minutes later.

The teams went in equal at the break with Doncaster, now playing with the wind, wanting to get 3 points in the second half.

Early into the second half, Rovers should have had a penalty after the amazing James Coppinger was brought down but a free-kick outside the area was awarded which John Doolan put inches past the post.

Totally against the run of play and their first shot on target of the whole game, Tcham N’Toya squeezed a low shot in just 3 minutes from time to rob Doncaster blind of any credit from the game.

FINAL SCORE: 0 - 1
