Doncaster 3 - 0 MK Dons
By Nick Raynor
December 30 2004
Rovers got their first win in 6 games with a 3 – 0 victory over MK Dons on Boxing Day.

It all started badly for MK Dons when Gareth Edds went to clear a through ball, only to slice it past his own keeper to give Doncaster the lead on 9 minutes.

Doncaster dominated the first half with MK Dons not really testing Andy Warrington at all. Rovers should have had more than a 1-goal-lead at the break but the second did come on the hour mark.

On-loan striker Simon Johnson slid into a cross from Paul Green to give Rovers a 2-0 lead and just 2 minutes later, Johnson sealed all 3 points for Rovers with his second goal after great passing and movement by Doncaster.

Johnson nearly got a hat-trick moments later which would have been a league record for fastest hat-trick but was unlucky to be ruled offside.

Rovers then sat back with MK Dons struggling to make any effort to get back in the game and only a brave save from Baker in stoppage time denied Ravenhill a goal and Doncaster’s fourth.

Final Score: 3 – 0
