The Mighty Wah song echoed around St Georges plateau and the tears ran down my face.  The past 48 hours have left me numb and bewildered; I still can't quite grasp the monumentous events of Wednesday.

As a fan who witnessed my team reach the glorious heights, on nights never to be forgotten, Wednesday was to me was the greatest. Ten thousand of us gathered on a cold stormy evening with the families, but I swear you could feel light, warmth glowing from every face.  Twenty three years of anguish, hurt and torment, a disaster which turned into a national disgrace.  A whole city slurred by the establishment trying to escape blame for their wrongdoings.

Not for me now to start laying blame, or I told you so, I want to thank everyone who took our word over the establishments.  Everton football club who stood with us, as did Glasgow Celtic.  The journalists who kept highlighting the injustice, when too many kept quiet.  Most of all the families, who never gave up despite all the obstacles the establishment could throw at them.

There may be bigger more affluent cities but its the people that make great cities.  So proud to be Scouse, we will always fight an injustice whether it be Thatcher, backing our dockers, or theYorkshire miners.

So very proud of the families dignified fight for justice for their loved ones.  They have Hearts as Big AS LIVERPOOL and never walked alone.
