Rafas Five Years in Charge
By John Christie
June 17 2009
Five years ago yesterday Rafael Benitez joined Liverpool Football Club. The genial Spaniard led a Rafalution at the club as he showed the door to many of the over priced failures he inherited.
In just five years he has totally re-organised the entire club from Academy up, has brought us some successes, the highlight being our 5th European crown in Istanbul.

All the more admirable when you know he has achieved this with the bitter and acrimonious boardroom instability, which has at times left him with one hand tied behind his back.

I find it ironic when media pundits claim Rafas not on the ball in the transfer market.

The team he inherited five years ago he couldn't give away. The team he has built now apparently has the top clubs awaiting with open cheque books to entice his stars away.

In Rafa we all trust, there is no better manager in the world.
