The Moore’s family were not only our owners, but our custodians. I’m sure it was with the very best of intentions David Moore’s sought to sell the club, as he knew he simply did not have the financial clout to compete with Europe’s elite clubs and develop a new Anfield. I’m now equally sure David Moore’s doesn’t sleep well at night at the choice he made when selling.
Looking at our business acumen though over the past decades we should not be surprised the club was sold to two American shyster carpetbaggers. Hicks n Gillet have made and lost fortunes on the backs of other people, tis what they do. Not a brass cent of their own money has ever been invested into the club.
The credit crunch has hit them hard so we are to be sold to the highest bidder like some second hand car in auction. They will not be the least bit concerned who buys the club, just the money.
So who is in the market?
Well Dubai’s Al Maktoum is still lurking, after all he was told, and shook hands, on buying the club before the Yanks. Kuwait’s Nasser Al Kharafi has visited on numerous occasions is also there. Two Indian interested parties have now shown their hand. Grandi Mallikarjun Rao and the Ambandi brothers the latter being stinkin dirty rich.
So take your pick tis one of the above we believe. Lets not kid ourselves, all the above, with the exception of Al Maktoum, have no links to the club or football. They are business people full stop.
What we need to make them understand is they become our custodians. Our lives are in their hands. It’s my club, my dead fathers club, my sons club, and always will be. Am I asking too much? NO NO NO, we all have the power to throw a dirty big spanner in the works, we’ve always been good at that in these parts, if we so choose, and if they behave like the yanks and show no respect.
The cowboys might be selling to the Indians but it will always be OUR club.
