Gerrard hopes to be re-united with Torres
By Mighty Reds
March 7 2009
Steven Gerrard is hoping to be joined by Fernando Torres in the return Champions League match aganist Real Madrid on Tuesday. Both players have spent time out this season with injury problems, but Gerrard is hoping that's all behind them now and they can spur the Reds on to a glorious end of season.

Gerrard said:

"Ideally we want to end the season playing together and performing for the team.

"I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he seems very optimistic so fingers crossed he can pull through for Tuesday because you know how much I like playing against Everton, and I'm sure it's the same for him playing against Madrid
."

I imagine Torres will be playing on Tuesday even if it is on one leg. Hopefully the ref will give him some protection once Real's defenders start kicking his ankle again.
