Fabio pleased to be back in contention

Fabio Aurelio
By Mighty Reds September 23 2007
Brazilian, Fabio Aurelio, is delighted to be back in contention for a place in the Liverpool team after his six month lay off with an Achilles injury gained back in April. He cites not being available for the Champions League final as his most disappointing moment but hopes to get there again someday.
"Now I'm playing again, my next aim is to stay involved," said Aurelio.

"The injury happened at the worst possible moment for me. It came during a part of the season when I was feeling very confident and had started to link well with my team mates and show we were creating an understanding.

"The hardest moment of all for me was watching the Champions League final last year because I knew a big opportunity had been taken away. It was especially hard because we lost and you can't do anything to help when you're not able to play.

"But sometimes it’s not a good idea to think too much about what happened. Now that's all in the past and I’ve got to think about what I can do now I’m fit again.

"Now I’m fit, the next step is to get back to my best as soon as possible.

"This season is a fresh challenge which allows me to start again. I want to be rebuild my
Liverpool career and appreciate every minute. Because I’m back, I wan't to make the most of it."
