Liverpool too good to turn down

Torres
By Mighty Reds July 4 2007
Fernando Torres has told Atletico Madrid fans that the chance to join Liverpool was too good to turn down and that it was his decision to move. Torres has spent the last seven years at Atletico, rising through the ranks and becoming a player many big clubs have tried to sign, but he now feels he needs a new challenge and that Liverpool are the team he wishes to face the challenge with.

He said:

“It has been a difficult decision to leave but it would have been hard for me to reject Liverpool’s offer," he explained.

“It is a big leap for me and I think it was the right thing for everyone. The time comes in the life of a player that he needs more challenges.

“I have always done what was best for the club, too. The Liverpool offer arrived and I only told the club to listen to that offer because that is the team I wanted to play for.

“It’s one of the best, if not the best, clubs in Europe.”

It's been a standing joke between the local players for years Chuck, they've always ribbed new players who say it, even those that were known as Liverpool fans even before they knew they'd be playing for us.

Appreciate your 1st tag though, well done, all others are losers.....(Sm14)
