A busy day at Prenton Park sees two players leave the squad and two more arrive a Gary Brabin makes some much needed changes.....
It's been a busy day at Prenton Park today as Rovers Manager Gary Brabin carried out a reshuffle of his squad ahead of Saturday's away trip to Boreham Wood.
Coming into the squad on a short-term loan until mid January from National League leaders Cheltenham Town is right back Lee Vaughan who played for the Robins in their previous game which saw them draw 1-1 at home against title rivals Forest Green in a Gloucestershire derby last Saturday.
The 29 year-old defender has played eleven times for Cheltenham Town this season, being part of four clean sheets in that time and in addition, Town have only conceded more than one goal once when Vaughan has played (a 3-2 home win over Dover Athletic back in September).
Vaughan began his career as a trainee at Walsall which was followed by four years at Kidderminster Harriers before he signed a deal with then Football League side Cheltenham in May 2014.
Jake Kirby has been recalled from his loan at Stockport
Other changes made by Gary Brabin today include releasing Marlon Jackson from his short-term contract with the Club. Despite a couple of bright appearances for Rovers, Jackson hasn't featured in recent weeks as Rovers form has also deteriorated to coincide with his absence. He leaves having made eleven appearances for Rovers.
In the final moves of the day, Tranmere have recalled Jake Kirby from his loan spell at Stockport County and have sent striker Johnny Margetts the other way on loan. Like Jackson, Margetts is another player that hasn't featured in recent weeks although he has made the bench on a regular basis whilst Kirby has been in hot form for County, scoring four goals in his last four games.
Total Tranmere would like to wish Marlon Jackson all the best for the rest of his career and to Johnny Margetts out on loan. We also welcome Jake Kirby back to Prenton Park and extend the same welcome to Lee Vaughan.
Yes we do have a right back and hope he's OK. Without wanting to sound negative or defeatist, what message does it send out when he doesn't appear to be in Cheltenham's plans.

I understand what your saying, but it worked out alright with Adam Dawson. Let's v 've him a chance
Total Tranmere say he his played eleven times this season been part of four clean sheets and Cheltenham have only conceded more than one goal once, when he has played.
A specialist Right Back will free Maynard for midfield?
By letting margetts go out, it would suggest that one of either Mangan or GTF will be dropped, as we can't start with no strikers on the bench.
Good luck to margetts, just needed a break and a run of games, but being 4th choice was always going to be tough.
Glad to see jake back, if he gets a couple of games under his belt and does well then brilliant, if not then fine, Stockport want to sign him anyway, so let him go in January.
Right back much needed. Jackson been poor. Kirkby width needed and if he doesn't work out he can go in Jan. Margetts chance for him to prove one way or another if he knows where the goal is.
Agree with other comment get back to 2 strikers and bench the 3rd
It's moving in the right direction thinks me, we all seem to agree that a dedicated right back was needed from the start of the season, bringing Mr Kirby back is also a positive move (should he ever have been loaned out?), I'm still waiting for news on Mr Dawson's return - any news anyone - Overall I think we have to credit Mr Brabin here for either listening to the fans (US), or just getting it right himself - it's now up to recent acquisitions to prove their real value I feel (that's Mr McNally & Mr Taylor-Fletcher or if no improvement they can follow Mr Jackson). Good luck to Mr Marguetts, bit of a bad rub playing without wingers to supply the opportunities and having T-F to compete against, hope the future is a lot brighter.
WWStandsure I'm still waiting for news on Mr Dawson's return - any news anyone -
He's back in training, but has admitted himself on twitter that he's not match fit. Good to see he's said himself that he knows the difference. I've seen a lot of players try and jump straight back into a match as soon as they're training again
Be interesting to see who gets dropped,Dawson has said he will hopefully be back for Braintree on 5th December, but then who will be dropped then? We have loads of midfielders now Maynard has been freed up,Mekki,Maynard,Harris,Jenno,Kirby & Norwood can all be played.
I can see no excuses now for us to kick on
I hate to say it as he loves the club, but it has to be Jenno that is dropped.
There will be games when we need his experience, but Maynard and Harris has to be first choice Centre Mids.
Wouldn't be surprised if Kirby and Mekki have the wide positions until Dawson is back up and running. All 3 of them can play on either wing so its gives us good competition with Ridelagh also in the frame
First choice strikers has to be Mangan and Norwood with GTF as back up
