In our latest Man of the Match vote of the season which related to last Saturday afternoon's last gasp 1-0 away win over Cheltenham Town, we can reveal that the Man of the Match for the game as voted for by you, was match winning goalscorer Andy Mangan.....
After a full week of voting following Tranmere's injury time winning 1-0 win away at Cheltenham Town last Saturday afternoon, we can now reveal that the Man of the Match for Tranmere's performance, as voted for by you the fans and readers of this site, was the man who scored that late, late winning goal, Andy Mangan.
A relatively dull first half saw niether side take the initiative and the second half also failed to produce any goals between two teams that at the time of the game sat second and eighth in the League respectively.
However, there was to be a twist late into four minutes of injury time in the second half when a long ball forward from Scott Davies was flicked on by Lois Maynard and Andy Mangan was able to turn and fire into the bottom corner of the goal for his second goal in as many Rovers games. That goal stole a vital three points for Rovers with a hard-fought 1-0 win.
As you can see from the poll below, gaolscorer Mangan polled 38% each of the 13 votes cast (5 votes) to finish ahead of three players all tied for second place in the vote. Liam Hogan, Steven Jennings and Jay Harris all polled 15% of the vote each (2 votes) whilst Ritchie Sutton and Lois Maynard polled 8% of the vote each (1 vote) to complete the voting.
Thanks to everyone who voted in the Man of the Match poll for the Cheltenham game. The poll for this Saturday's match at home to Bromley will be available later on Saturday evening after the match so stay tuned to Total Tranmere.
