By Deadly Submarine February 18 2012 After Rovers earned a deserved 1-1 draw at home to Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon, Rovers boss Les Parry confirmed that he was happy to take a point from the game.......
Tranmere Manager Les Parry was happy with his side's 1-1 draw at home to runway League leaders Charlton Athletic on Saturday despite his side yet again surrendering a 1-0 lead in a game.
Speaking to Tranmere Player after the game, Parry said.....
"They've won 11 away games this season and are looking to break an all time record for their club and we thoroughly deserved at least a point, so we've got to be happy."
"I thought they started better than us, we just didn't look happy for the first portion of the game but once we started putting the ball down we put together some wonderful passing movements and a lot of them finished off with chances."
There's only two games this season they haven't scored in so you know that if you don't score the chances are you're going to lose the game. So when Brunt's header was saved, I was hoping we didn't rue it but it was a real finisher's goal from him, he was there to force it past the goalkeeper."
"Ryan worked his socks off, I probably left him on too long. For young lads it is a hell of an ask and he didn't have much left. I couldn't see the Charlton goal but the linesman said it was well over so you've got to accept that but I was a little bit unhappy with how they got the corner."
"We didn't start the second half well but we kept our shape. They've hit a long hopeful ball that hasn't gone anywhere near any of their players and a lack of communication from Fonners meant Buchs headed it out for a corner and they scored from it. That annoyed me a little bit, we need to do better than that."
"I think Ash and Goody put in a great performance. Kermorgant won't have had a harder game than that. It's normally him who's bullying centre halves and making himself awkward but the two of them handled him really well."
And it showed that he was happy to take a point. We sat so far back in the second half it was criminal. As a result it was just a matter of time before they equalised. They were there for the taking but we showed no ambition or urgency going forward in the second half.Brunt was so isolated it was amazing that he kept going so well.
Before today we were seven clear going the wrong way me thinks?
How long have we been 17th and NOT moved ! facts are there to see !! after 6 defeatsa we have stabalized and are looking well safe after doin well against top sides like charlton carlislse and huddersfield !
Yes, but being 17th for a long time, is not much good, if the gap between 17th and 21st gets smaller. I think the team could have stolen it, but I am fairly pleased wih the result and I just have to assume the allowed goal for Charlton was legit and not a case of the referee or linesman have a minor eyesight problem when it mattered.
However there is a reasonable margin so onwards and upwards, but the team must take something from this and try to push on.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Did you even go to the match today @gony??? Seeing as you were posting on here about 10 minutes after the final whistle went???
You come on here gobbing off, but I bet you don't even attent the games???
Well I came away from the match happy and judging from the comments at the end of the game so did all the Rovers fans around me. I didn't hear anyone that declared themselves unhappy with the result/performance. Charlton are a different class to everyone else in the division and to get a result against them, however you do it, is very pleasing.

yes happy with the fact we held the league leaders ,but not happy that the record is growing its now 1 win in 18 ,and a little bit more ambition we could have took all 3 poins ,1 point was no good to us as nearly all the clubs just below us won even rochdale ,so yes good result but we must start to pick up 3 poins from home games or that trap door will get nearer ,draw at home and lose away is not the results that will keep us up ,
Good result against a very good side, have to say the effort put in today would say the team at least still doing it for the manager which has to be encouraging for the future games. keeping the faith onwards and upwards
I was one of those that came away from the game disappointed. Even though they are top i was not one bit impressed with them, they looked shoddy at the back, they were there for the taking, we could of pushed on second half and got a very morale boosting win. Instead we sit back absorb the pressure and inevitably they scored. Poor tactics, making changes 5 minutes from the end was ridiculous. Should of happened 20 minutes earlier and tried to claim all three points.

He was posting on here during the game too.
So ! what is your point ? am I not a Tranmere Rovers supporter ? is that what you say ? do I have to go the matches to comment ? (would exclude a lot of supporters that ! ) and I never even commented on the match !
"You come on here gobbing off," tut tut

Well, you seem to have invented the term "Les Haters" so in my book, that constitutes gobbing off??
Nobody's saying you are not entitled to contribute.
But you seem to come on here and chat Utter Sh*te!
It's almost as if you go against people just to provoke a reaction?
pez you accused me of calling people morons wrongly ! have called me all sorts of names, questioned my education,,,,,,,,,,,,, now you making this up that I made up the term Les Haters, which I didn't ! what's your problem ?

In comparison with the problem I have with Mr Les Parry you don't even register on the radar!!!
You still wan't Les' Love Child then @gony???
He is totally out of his depth, as soon as those that matter get the message, the better things will be at P.P!
Absolute Disgrace! 1 Win in 19 Games??? Totally unacceptable.
The only way we are going is down to League 2. Draws and defeats are not going to keep us up.
39 Year Old Centre Back up front??? WTF? Reaks of desperation to me. Another amazing tactic by the tactical genious that is Mr Les Parry.
We have to be happy with 1 win in 19 the same way General Custer was at the Little Big Horn, Custer took the path to ignore his advisers and we all know what happened in the end
I am not saying that Les*Custer*Parry does or does not listen to his staff but some thing is not right again he comes out with after the match stating the difference in this league is a mistake or a refereeing decisions and there was nothing in the game and we should have scored yes again this is true, but that type of excuses are all right if we have just lost a game today after a run of three wins and a draw or two but it`s not that`s because today`s defeat is at the end of a nineteen game run were we have only won one match out of those games.
I have not been an advocate of keeping Les on nor one of getting rid of Les but as we move on to the twentieth game this coming Saturday if we lose that one against Chesterfield
it has gone beyond who the personality is in charge the line has to be drawn then and the only one who can act on that is Peter Johnson but I doubt that he will take any action.
After 56+ years of watching Tranmere(I am nearly 65 now)I can not remember a run of games like this oh yes I have seen us drop from Div 3 to Div 4 but even in seasons we have made the drop to have such a run as we are going through.
Even Les can not build up Chesterfield as he normally talks up the opposition before the ball is kicked if we lose this next game even Les can not talk about missed chances and Les you might have to bite the bullet if we get beat next week.
