Tranmere have today announced that Premier League neighbours Liverpool will visit Prenton Park in pre-season for the second year in a row as the growing relationship between the two sides continues to grow ever stronger.

Just when Rovers fans thought that the pre-season friendly list was complete for 2009/10, the Club have today announced that Premier League neighbours Liverpool will once again visit Prenton Park for a friendly match just as they did last season.

The game against Rafa Benitez's Reds will take place on Friday 24th July with a 7.45pm kick-off - just 24 hours before Rovers travel to Moss Rose to take on Macclesfield Town on Saturday 25th July (kick-off 3.00pm).

The game against Liverpool increases the relationship between Rovers and the Anfield side after it was announced last week that Liverpool's Reserves would be playing their home games at Prenton Park next season and added to the recent appointment of two former Liverpool players as Manager and Assistant Manager.

Rovers Boss John Barnes told Tranmere Rovers' Official Website...

"This will be a great chance for my squad to show what they can do and hopefully both sets of fans will enjoy the game.  I look forward to welcoming my old Club to Prenton Park ahead of the new season."

Admission prices in all Stands for the game have been reduced as follows....

Adults - £12.00

Seniors (60+) and Young Persons - £6.00

Juniors - £4.00

Admission to all Stands is pay on the turnstile apart from the Main Stand where tickets must be bought from the Ticket Office and for Young Persons who must provide proof of age at the Ticket Office.

Last season the game sold out fairly quickly so we urge fans who wish to go to buy early to avoid missing out.

Suite Prices are as follows.....

Dixie Dean Suite: Adults - £22.00 Juniors - £11.00 (hot and cold buffet)

Vice Presidents Suite: Adults - £18.00 Juniors - £9.00 (half-time snack)

Tranmere Suite: Adults - £15.00 Juniors - £7.50

Season Ticket holders for any of the above Suites will be admitted free of charge to this game.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 29th June with Ticket Office opening hours of 9.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday or tickets can be bought online at http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk.

Other friendlies against Bangor City and Prestatyn Town are believed to be in the planning although it is unsure whether these will definitely be arranged as yet.

As rumoured, Rovers will take on Liverpool in a pre-season game at Prenton Park on Friday 24th July.

I can't go but after it being like a Liverpool home game last year I'm not too bothered.

Great revenue for us though so it's all good news!!

gotta agree with Mike though its a shame and quite angering the way the ground gets turned into a liverpool home game for all the arm chair glory hunters though!
