NUMBER 2 - MARK RIDGWAY (LISCARD)

What is your Name and where do you Live?

Mark Ridgway - Liscard about 20 minutes from Prenton Park.

How old are you and for how long have you supported Rovers?

17 - It was exactly ten years to the day of the Huddersfield home game a couple of months ago.

Who or what made you support the Superwhites?

My dads a Tranmere fan so naturally took me to a game and I was instantly hooked.

What was your first ever Rovers Game?

First game was against Sheffield United on 14/3/99.  We were 2-0 up and lost 3-2 in the end, Clint Hill scored but I can't remember the other scorer.

Where do you usually sit at Prenton Park?

The last ten years I've been in the Johnny King stand near the away fans, however next season I'll be in the Kop as I'm no longer a Junior so the Johnny King Stand is more expensive.

Who is your all-time favourite Rovers Player?

Gareth Roberts.  He plays in my position and I used to try and play like him. He is a Rovers legend who played for us in our glory years when I first started supporting us.  His goal away at Wrexham is one of my favourite all time goals!

Who is the worst Rovers Player you've seen?

This is a hard one, there's been a few!  Steve Wilson was pretty awful.

What was your favourite ever Rovers Game?

Again there is a few.  Oldham away this season was amazing, as well as the obvious Southampton and Everton.  But personally my most enjoyable game was the 5-1 win away at Wrexham a few years back.  The fans were amazing that day, as were the players and we helped send them down.

Select your All-Time Best Rovers XI:

Achterberg

Taylor, Goodison, Hill, Roberts

Rankine, Flynn, Kay, Henry

Dadi, Barlow

What is your Favourite Away Ground?

Chesterfield - a good old fashioned English football ground, that we always seem to do well at.  Standing away games are always great and with it not being a long journey it's a shame they're in League 2 now.  I've been twice, a 2-0 win in 2006 and the 2-1 FA cup win in 2007.

Have you ever been to Wembley with Rovers and if so which year and which match?

The one time was the Worthington cup final against Leicester in 2000.  When Elliott got a double, either side of a David Kelly strike that sent us wild. Great day out but we want to go to the new Wembley to watch Rovers now.

What is your all-time Awful Rovers XI?

Wilson

Raven, Hazell, Gray, Tremarco

Aiston, Cooper, Ellison, Shuker

G.Taylor,Hay

If you were in charge at Prenton Park, what changes would you make?

I would stick the away fans in the Johnny King and give the Cowshed to Rovers fans so the players would be cheered on in both halves. Also I would install a Burger King outside the ground and make an Official Website where the fans views are expressed and considered by the club.

After missing out this season, where do you think Rovers will finish next season?

I'm going to stay positive and say we'll bring in a few more decent players and keep onto the majority and finish 6th and go up via the play offs.

Tell us something interesting or unusual about your support for Rovers over the years?

I converted total Tranmere user Barrie Nelson from a Liverpool fan to a die-hard Tranmere fan.

Have you ever worked for/been involved with the Club aside from being a Fan?

No - I wish!!

Total Tranmere would like to thank Mark for his interesting interview and for his continued input into the Website.

Stay tuned to Total Tranmere this week for a third interview in the series with another exiled Tranmere Fan.

Barlow wouldn't go in my best team but he wouldn't be in my worst either!

His two hat-tricks in four days against Notts County are something I will never forget!

I would also disagree that Steve Wilson was as bad as some people make out.

barlow got the nod because of possibly our most memorable goal in recent years, that southampton goal made him an instant legend in my eyes.

i struggled with the worst team, as we havent had that many awfull players, it was a toss up between wilson & ward really. im not really a fan of shukes either and couldn't think of anyone worse.
