Shotton Loan Deal In Doubt After Snag
By Deadly Submarine
January 2 2009
Ryan Shotton may now not join Tranmere on loan until the end of the season after the deal hit problems with his parent Club Stoke City. Shotton had a three month loan spell at Rovers in 2008 and was expected to re-join Tranmere until the end of the season.

After being expected to sign for Rovers on loan yesterday until the end of the season, it now seems that Stoke defender Ryan Shotton may not even join Rovers at all after the deal reportedly hit a 'snag' this morning.

No further information on what the snag entails has been made available but it is thought that the problem has come from the Stoke end with the Club suffering from something of an injury crisis.

Shotton would be unavailable anyway for Stoke's game away at Hartlepool in the FA Cup tomorrow due to the defender having already played for Rovers in the first and second rounds.

Shotton previously had a three month loan spell at Prenton Park from September to November before returning to Stoke in December under the loan system rules.

Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore insists he is working on other options for right-back should Shotton not be able to join Rovers.

We will have more on the Shotton situation as the information becomes available.
