For those who are unable to go to the away game against Peterborough United this afternoon, here is your platform for discussing the events of the evening and the build up to it pre-match as well as any other interesting scorelines in the FA Cup second round.
Peterborough United Match Discussion Thread

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing away at Peterborough United this afternoon in the second round od the FA Cup so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores including any upsets in the FA Cup second round this afternoon.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Peterborough U v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion

I think I will start by saying that i was pleased to say the least with the performance today. For me there was only one team that were going to win that game and it was us.

Right from off we got about them and ruffled them up abit, controlled the play from the back and went about our work as a unit. We were unfortunate to catch their keeper Joe Lewis on a good day because he pulled off a string of fab saves to denie first Edds then Kay.

Peterborough had a few decent chances in the second half but Danny Coyne seemed to have them covered, but in the first period there only attempt on goal was from McLean.

The wingers were effective when needed and Sonko's first touch is improving. After Edds went for the leg breaking tackle, rightly got booked then was subsequently subbed the introduction of Terry Gornell seemed to boost the players moreso.

The one main chance that originally Jenno latched onto should of been struck by himself, but unselfishly he played the ball square across the box to Gornell who was denied somehow when it looked for all the world he was going to smash home the winner and send us through to round three.

Savage had a poor game today but I'm sure he'll bounce back from that. The 4-5-1 formation at the start cancelled there attacking threats out but when we switched for 4-4-2, Ronnie sensed that they were for the taking, unfortunately it just would not go in.

I also thought that the chanting from some of our supporters got OTT at times, with some fools getting carried away.

Cries of "Your wife got @#$%& by a monkey" is hardly a way to show were one of the best followings for vocal noise in the league. It sickens me to think what their fans thought of us a whole and not as the "minority" who constantly shout pathetic, ridicolous comments that are not wanted in football.

Overall though i would of took a replay at the start of the day, and to make a league side such as them look ordinary on their own patch is one of numerous things to take positively out the game. Bring on the Posh on December 9th were hopefully the hat for Round Three awaits.

Pretty much spot on for me that Ste.

Why Jennings didn't just shoot with the goal gaping I don't know but maybe in that split second he thought Gornell would have the clearer chance (although I'm not convinced Gornell did).

When Terry came on he looked good but like you say Bas had his moments both good and bad.

I thought Edds was lucky to stay on the pitch and I'm hoping Matt will tell us what whether he thinks the referee was right or wrong to only book him.

As you said I would have taken a draw before the game but they were definitely there for the taking and we should probably have won the game.
