Tranmere Rovers v Accrington Match Discussion
By Deadly Submarine
November 13 2008
For those who are unable to go to the game against Accrington Stanley later tonight or for those watching it live on Setanta, here is your platform for discussing the events of the evening as the match goes on, possibly in to extra time and penalties if the sides can't be separated.
Accrington Stanley Match Discussion Thread

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing at home to Accrington Stanley later tonight in the FA Cup first round replay and for those unable to attend, the game is also live on Setanta Sports.

If you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Tranmere Rovers v Accrington Match Discussion

A better game than the first attempt on Saturday but not by much.

We were lucky to get through but the fact that we did is all that counts I suppose in the end.

Someone by me in the Main Stand said that Kay's booking tonight means he is suspended for Saturday but I make it that he only has four yellow cards after tonight so that's a relief.

Another clean sheet though which is definitely a positive but I just wonder how tonight will affect us whe it comes to Saturday's game.

We were terrible last night! Not a way to sell our club to the public, and I think that after that performance, Setanta won't be rushing in to get rights to any more of our ties any time soon. I haven't yet seen the highlights of the match, I will have to wait until 12, but if it's as dull as it felt in person, I will just turn on for the goal at about 10 past 1 and see if it was a penalty on Greenacre, then turn it off.
Disappointed to hear someone say to me that Moore should be sacked last night as well, then again, it was someone who knows very little about the club (he's a man u fan) and judged it all on that performance, saying that it doesn't matter that we have only conceded 1 goal in our last 8 matches, we are in a pretty good league position, being closer to the top 6 than the bottom 4, in the Semi (well basically quarter) finals of the Paint Pot Cup, and now into round 2 of the FA Cup, with only Grimsby scoring against us in 6 cup matches.
It doesn't bother me that much that we aren't playing with as much flair as well could do, at the end of the day, if you don't concede a goal, you are guaranteed at least a point, but if you score one, you could still lose the game, look at Swindon Town, they have only failed to score in one league game this season and they are 17th. Moore has a good game plan at the moment, and it's also helping me to make money, so he should stick with it (Sm100)

Definately an ugly win, but who cares we won the game i would be pleased if we won ugly every week.

We have to take the positives even though there wern't many apart from our brilliant support for Humey. Another positive for me was Chorley i thought he was are best player last night.

Barnett, Shotton, Kaysy, Savage and even Andy Taylor all had poor games.

But if we are winning playing badly i suppose thats positive because when we play to our best we'll destroy teams.

Does anybody know any news on Shukes injury?

But im dissapointed with the way we've played as we were on tele , we are better than that and peopel must be watching thinking there awful.

Accrington were far to physical for us, even Kay was getting pushed around bu Mullins brother.
