Belgian born but of Gambian nationality, Edrissa Sonko signed for Rovers in July and featured briefly in the pre-season defeat to Liverpool before taking a well-earned rest for  a few weeks after a busy summer of International duty for Gambia in World Cup Qualifiers.

The 28 year-old winger last season in League One at Walsall where he made 34 appearances and scored five times.

He began his career at Belgian side Anderlecht but quickly moved to Roda JC where he spent six years before moving to the Bescot Stadium, playing just one season there before signing for Tranmere.
