After we reported Tranmere’s interest in him last month, Rovers have today confirmed that Liverpool defender Godwin Antwi has signed for the Club on loan until January, beating off competition from League Two sides including local neighbours Chester City.
Ronnie Moore's sixth new signing of the summer started his career at Real Zaragoza, before joining Liverpool in 2005 although he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Merseyside club.
However, he has spent time on loan at two clubs over the last two seasons, firstly spending three months at Accrington Stanley during the 2006-07 season, making nine appearances for the Lancashire club and thene spending the whole of last season at Hartlepool, where he made 34 appearances, scoring once.
He played once against Tranmere last season, helping Hartlepool to a 3-1 Tuesday night win over Rovers at Victoria Park.

Rovers New Signing Godwin Antwi!
Antwi, who was born in Ghana but holds a Spanish Passport, has been a successful part of the Liverpool reserve team over recent years, picking up a F.A. Youth Cup winners medal with the club in 2006.
The signing comes after Ronnie Moore confirmed he would look at bringing youngsters across the water to Prenton Park to help fill out his squad,, with Antwi becoming Tranmere's first loan signing from Liverpool since David Raven joined in 2005-06.
The youngster will take the Number 2 shirt vacated by Robbie Stockdale at the end of last season.
Speaking to the Tranmere Rovers Official Website, Manager Ronnie Moore said....
"Godwin is a very talented young defender who we've been watching for some time. When I heard he had become available on loan I jumped at the chance of bringing him in to play right back."
"He has spent the last three seasons at Liverpool so has worked with some great coaches. He is comfortable on the ball, already has Football League experience from his time at Hartlepool and he will add quality, strength and pace to our defence. Hopefully we will be able to keep him beyond January."
"I'd like to thank Rafa Benitez and Liverpool Football Club for allowing him to come here. It is great that the two clubs are able to work together to help the career of a young player."
Godwin added.....................
"I'm very happy to be here, Tranmere is a good club and it will be a great experience for me. I'm looking forward to meeting my new team mates and some hard training ahead of the season."
Godwin will be available for Tranmere's pre-season friendlies at Prenton Park against Bolton on Tuesday 29th July and Blackpool on Saturday 2nd August.
